The definitive features of titanium metal are superior strength and low specific gravity. Although titanium (4.3/ cm3) outweighs carbon fiber (2.0/cm3), its level of toughness and strength allows for much less material to be used during production, leading to similar final weights.
Titanium materials special for high toughness, high strength and low specific gravity, the carbon steel specific gravity is 7.8/cm3, titanium is 4.3/cm3, and Carbon is 2.0/cm3, although the titanium is weightier than carbon, but titanium special for toughness and strength, so it is can to production to very thin slice and to reach strength enough, and the final weight is similar to carbon.
Currently, titanium is used to make numerous bicycle parts (frames, forks, handlebars, derailleurs, etc.) and has of course been used by some companies to make cranksets. However, previous cranks have all been solid titanium and as such weighed too much for performance bicycles.
In today’s competitive market, weighty solid titanium cranks simply cannot compete. So, our company has applied many years of titanium manufacturing experience to develop hollow titanium cranks, to be supplied to bicycle parts companies and included in complete cranksets. We are the first to offer a hollow titanium crank.
